March mood board. Hello, pastel spring! Please, be good!

My March mood board is probably the one that i like the most out of all 12 chapters of a year. After so many months of cold weather, lots of clothes to put on and trying to keep warm, finally spring is here!

I realized i liked March and spring in general more than i thought. Though i’ll always be a summer girl, spring is the one i’m eagerly waiting for when autumn starts. I am in love with blossom cherry trees and magnolia trees and spring flowers. Since i am a total Japan lover and Japan is famous for its sakura trees (cherry blossom), this mood board reflects my love for the both.

On my last month’s mood board i was talking about the 2 apps i had just begun using: the one reminding me to drink water and the workout one. Well, one of them stuck with me, the other didn’t. Yes, the water one did. February was an incredibly busy month for us and i’m really really thankful for it. Thanks to our “free shipping in February” promotion, we received many orders and we’re still working on about 4 different projects at the moment. The downside was that i didn’t have any time left for my workout app routine. Still, i’m not giving up on it and i plan on picking it up again.

The lack of free time is also keeping me from taking photos of all the new boxes we made and they’ve really been piling up! The time for them will definitely come, though!

Getting back on track, here’s what my March mood board looks like:

February mood board. Hello, romantic February! Please, be good!

Even though they say this is the month of love, my February mood board doesn’t really reflect that. Actually i don’t really like this month much. I always seem to catch a cold in February and this time is no different.

Well, i may not like the month, but i’m doing my very best to keep active and take on new challenges. There’s also the “Free shipping letterpress” promotion for this month, so i’m making sure the cold weather doesn’t get me down. Although i admit i’d much rather just stay inside, drink hot cocoa with lots of cream and read a bunch of books. That’s definitely my view on February. We can’t always get what we want, right? Therefore, i get on to the second best things: work on both the letterpress shop and the packaging shop, make plans, organize stuff.

I tend to not drink enough water, which is not good, so i got one of those little phone apps to remind me to drink. It may sound stupid, but it does the trick for me. I’ve started a couple of days before and so far so good.

Then, today i’ll start a 30 Days workout challenge. This is actually also a phone app, so i guess i’m finally starting to realize the benefits of phone apps? Anyway, i’ll get back with updates on this one, but i’m pretty confident it will be ok. Or maybe i just got a boost of confidence altogether since i just turned 30? Hmmm…. it might be…

Oh well, my February mood board is kinda like this…

hello october

October mood board inspiration. Hello, spooky October! Please, be good!

My October mood board inspiration is a bit on the dark, bleak, gloomy side. I’m pretty sure November will be even more so, but i’m getting a bit ahead of myself here.

hello october(source)

I kind of started posting these mood boards at the beginning of each month. They pretty much represent how i see and how i feel each month. Well i have to say, despite the fact that autumn and these autumn months are not particularly my favorite, they are, however, very productive. Procrastination is long gone now and we’re on a full-scale working spree, just as i thought it would happen.

Our Funky Box Studio, our boxes and packaging supplies shop, is doing better and better (it’s just the beginning of the month, but we’ve already received 7 etsy orders and several more through direct mail. The same goes for Funky Print Studio, our letterpress printing shop. We’ve taken on a few very interesting projects that i actually can’t wait to talk about! We played with bold ink colors, we did some edge painting and we turned some letterpress cards into stickers!

My October mood board, however, doesn’t really share my enthusiasm over these things. And yet, the weather is a lot warmer for this time of year than it should be! And i’m thankful for that.

I’ve also set some major goals for October:

  • website makeover; i’ll have this website looking top notch. This must be done!
  • post as many of the projects we’ve already completed as possible. I even have the photos for them, so it should be easy…. right?
  • work on new designs for business cards and invitations
  • photograph and have up on etsy the bunch of new boxes we made.

hello september

Autumn mood board inspiration. Hello, colorful September! Please, be good!

I know i’m late posting my autumn mood board inspiration, but it’s better late than never, right?

autumn mood boardIn my previous article i was saying “bye” to procrastination and i swear i did my best to have a clean break up. It was a lot more difficult than i thought, but i’m still trying hard. Eventually, i’ll go on a full-on working spree, so i’ll definitely make up for the lost time. Even so, even while dealing with my procrastination issues, i still did a lot of work anyway. Our letterpress shop is going great and the boxes and packaging one is even better, so i can only be thankful (since it’s definitely the season for giving thanks!).

Getting back to my autumn mood board, i must admit it took a long time for me to appreciate this season. I actually hated it! No more sun, ugly weather, rain and cold, leaves falling… but mainly just the bad weather. It was actually a blogger who changed my mind entirely. It’s thanks to her that i now get to enjoy autumn just as much as i enjoy the other seasons!

I have many things i want to do, so i think my motivation is coming back. I’ve actually just finished designing some business cards for a neurologist and recently we made letterpress business cards for a dentist and her team, so i’m thinking maybe the medical field?… Oh well, i just hope i’ll be able to take good photos!
