Happy New Year!! I guess it’s not too late to say it, right? After quite a long time, we’re finally back with updates here as well. There were so many things that happened since the last time i posted!

First things first: website makeover!

Last time i was talking about the plans for a complete makeover of this blog / website. Well it’s happening all right! It’s still a work in progress, but the major parts are done: got the new theme installed and i must send a special “thank you” to the lovely person and fellow etsian who helped me out and got the theme from, Sophie of English Snow Designs. I wholeheartedly recommend her if you’re looking for a simple and stylish theme for your blog!

I’m still working on Funky Print Studio‘s logo as i keep having these thoughts: “Oh, i could change that!” or “Oh, that has to be replaced!” or “Oh, i don’t like how this looks!” Still, it’s coming together nicely and with a few more tweaks, i’ll get to the final form.

I have a bunch of updates to add at the Portfolio section and that will take some time. But we’ll get there.

Now let’s talk a bit about the sudden absence from blogging. Initially it was because of the whole makeover thing. Then, because the last 3 months of the year were extremely busy! Like really really really busy! We worked on a bunch of letterpress projects that i can’t wait to share, but we also had thousands (literally) of boxes to make and ship. We actually spent more time in the studio than at home! Don’t get me wrong, this is not me complaining, but actually me being proud of our little shops getting more customers. It’s an incredible feeling and i’m humbly thankful.

Our winter vacation was sooo needed. Work is good, but remember to rest every once in a while, yeah? And rest we did. Well now we are fully recharged and ready to get back to work!

I have some major goals for 2016, but the one i want to focus most on is making the most of it. Making the most of each day. That may have something to do with the fact that this is my 30th year on this Earth! :)

Autumn mood board inspiration. Hello, colorful September! Please, be good!

I know i’m late posting my autumn mood board inspiration, but it’s better late than never, right?

In my previous article i was saying “bye” to procrastination and i swear i did my best to have a clean break up. It was a lot more difficult than i thought, but i’m still trying hard. Eventually, i’ll go on a full-on working spree, so i’ll definitely make up for the lost time. Even so, even while dealing with my procrastination issues, i still did a lot of work anyway. Our letterpress shop is going great and the boxes and packaging one is even better, so i can only be thankful (since it’s definitely the season for giving thanks!).

Getting back to my autumn mood board, i must admit it took a long time for me to appreciate this season. I actually hated it! No more sun, ugly weather, rain and cold, leaves falling… but mainly just the bad weather. It was actually a blogger who changed my mind entirely. It’s thanks to her that i now get to enjoy autumn just as much as i enjoy the other seasons!

I have many things i want to do, so i think my motivation is coming back. I’ve actually just finished designing some business cards for a neurologist and recently we made letterpress business cards for a dentist and her team, so i’m thinking maybe the medical field?… Oh well, i just hope i’ll be able to take good photos!

The Funky Studio team is back… Bye-bye, procrastination!

The Funky Studio team is back… and not so much? Yes, we’ve been back for a couple of weeks, but catching up with everything took a lot more than i thought. Then, once we achieved that, it was time for some more procrastination. Sometimes, procrastination is good. Just sometimes. But it’s finally time to pick up where we left off.

My last Wednesday Wishes post was all about the summer mode i was in and planning all the fun for our holiday. I must say, i am proud to have achieved many of the things i wrote there regarding the vacation. It was a lot of fun, i ate the best food of my life and i also got a chance to show that i’m becoming more opinionated (as one of the wishes stated). I also finally mustered up the courage to take on another huge thing on one of my WW lists: i’m going to a gym 3 times a week. Yes, it is a huge thing!

Even though we haven’t actually been active either on our shops or here, that doesn’t really mean we didn’t work at all. We worked on a couple of letterpress projects that i’m actually really happy about and also a bunch of boxes. We also have several new ones that i can’t wait to have up for sale in our shop!

Well that’s about it. That’s what we’ve been doing since we got back from our vacation. Hopefully we’ll begin to be as active as we used to be before that. Bye-bye, procrastination!

What has FPS been doing? Custom letterpress business cards, wedding sets, custom designs, new boxes and ranting

FPS has been quite busy, even though lately you can tell people are finally starting their summer holidays. We’ve been working on several custom letterpress business cards, new templates for business cards (which i’m quite anxious to have up in the shop), new templates for save the date cards and also our very first letterpress wedding invitations and reception cards!

We played with ink colors again as we took on a custom letterpress business cards order that had to be printed in navy blue (i must admit, i can’t wait for the client to receive her package as these cards are definitely my favorite project so far! They turned out wonderful! Will have to wait for a confirmation before showing any photos though.). Continuing with ink colors playing, we re-printed our business cards using a sort of metallic copper-gold-brownish ink. Now that’s a color description! But seriously, it’s exactly that! It is a sparkling copper in the sunlight, but it turns brown when inside… The photos can’t really show these subtle changes, but in reality this ink color is quite amazing!

Our first custom wedding stationery set is also something i’m very proud of. I really enjoyed working on the design and we’re actually close to completion. We printed this wedding set in navy blue as well and we also made custom envelopes with blind printing on them. I’m guessing the actual Pantone color for the year is not really Marsala, but Navy Blue…

Our packaging shop will also be updated with new boxes quite soon. We have a bunch of them not listed yet, but alas, my all time nemesis, photography, gets in the way!

The letterpress shop is also in full-mode Christmas in July party! We have a special offer for Christmas in July: free shipping!! I’ll be doing a separate post about this too, but i thought i should mention it here too. So all of you business owners in search for impressive business cards or tags, all of you love-birds searching for beautiful wedding stationery that your guests won’t be able to throw away, all of you people around the world in search of custom letterpress printing, now it’s your chance! I really felt like ranting today, so i’ve done it! It’s also because i should have blogged sooner, but i must admit i’m also thinking of my summer holiday a lot lately…
